Furniture Project
DNM furniture project re-homes pre-loved furniture and basic household goods to individuals and families experiencing furniture poverty in and around Thetford, Norfolk.
The furniture project operates under a referral system. To make a referral to the furniture project please contact dovesnestministries@outlook.com for a referral form.
From time to time we are able to accept some self-referrals depending on individual need and our available resources at the time. Due to the nature of the charity - running entirely by volunteers, being dependent on donors for furniture and finances and having limited storage space we regret that we may not be able to fulfil all self-referrals.

How we work
The furniture project relies on the wider community to donate pre-loved furniture and household goods to the charity in order that we can donate these out to others in need. All donations are reliant on current stock availability and as such we are not able to guarantee the brand, colour or design of anything we donate. The majority of our clients are referred to us through other organisations and charities – please contact dovesnestministries@outlook.com if you are an organisation in need of a referral form. Everything we donate out is free of charge although we do encourage a manageable donation if possible (this enables us to cover our delivery costs and secure our services for future clients).
Waiting lists
We regret to inform you that due to high demand for our services we may need to add you to a waiting list if we do not have available stock. We are unable to suggest how long this may take since our stock is entirely reliant on donations to us.
Self-Referrals
We are able to accept some self-referrals depending on individual need and our available resources at the time. Due to the nature of the charity - running mainly by volunteers, being dependent on donors for furniture and finances and having limited storage space we regret that we may not be able to fulfil all self-referrals. Items we donate out are free of charge however we do recommend that all self-referrals make a manageable financial donation to the work of the charity to cover delivery costs and secure the future of our services. We will need to fill out a self-referral form over the phone with you which will help us to assess your need, fulfil charity requirements and assess what support we can offer. Please leave us your phone number if you wish to proceed.

Financial Giving to Dove's Nest Ministries
Every amount, whether a regular monthly amount or a one off donation, enables us to continue offering support to people experiencing furniture poverty.
In the period of October 21-September 22 your donations enabled us to support 112 households to receive essential furniture and house hold goods.
Families like Jennie and her son (name changed) who had been in temporary accommodation for a substantial amount of time before being given a permanent residence. Coming from temporary accommodation Jennie did not own the furniture they were using and would have found it very difficult to finance new furniture for the family’s new accommodation all in one go. We were able to donate a substantial amount of furniture and household goods including towels, bedding, dining equipment and lounge furniture to ease this financial burden upon the family.
Your support is vital for us to continue this life changing work.

Complaints Procedure
Dove’s Nest Ministry takes concerns/complaints seriously and treats them as an opportunity to develop our practice and services. We have a process through which you can let us know if for any reason you are not satisfied with your dealings with the organisation.
We believe that concerns are best dealt with in a calm and non-confrontational manner and so will treat you with respect, listen to your concerns and attempt to provide a mutually acceptable outcome without the need for escalation or formal measures. We request that you equally treat us with respect and courtesy.
Initial concern
Many issues can be resolved informally by speaking calmly and respectfully to the individual concerned. If this is felt to be an inappropriate course of action, the issue remains unresolved or you are not satisfied with the response, you may ask to speak to a ‘Team leader’ with supervisory responsibility for the individual. Following this you may wish to make a ‘formal written complaint’.
Formal written complaint
Complaints can be made by contacting our administration:
dovesnestministries@outlook.com:
69 Norwich rd,
Thetford,
Norfolk,
IP24 2 JJ
Please include your name, address/e-mail address, and contact number and state that you are making a ‘Formal Written Complaint’ so that we can respond to and log your concern.
Since Dove’s Nest Ministries is run by volunteers and does not have full time administration staff please be aware that our response may not be immediate and allow adequate time for us to respond to your correspondence.
The charity administration will address formal written complaints; gathering information, carrying out any necessary investigation and making a response. As a small charity it is important to note that our volunteers may have multiple roles with the charity and that members of the administration may also be charity trustees. The charity Trustees are very involved in the day-today running of the charity and it’s oversight and may be contacted by the administration for advice in order to resolve the issue.
Depending on the nature and severity of the complaint it may be appropriate for the administration to defer straight to the Charity Trustees.
Should the issue not be resolved at this stage you may ask for the board of Trustees to be contacted.

Before submitting a complaint to the charity commission you must complain directly to the charity first or be able to explain why you could not do this. Only use the charity commission’s complaints procedure if there is a serious risk of harm to the charity or people it was set up to help.

a person or organisation receiving significant financial benefit from a charity
criminal, illegal or terrorist activity
